Pitting simulator

Animated pitting machine: plunger, fruit, hole of four shapes; force, split stone, crushed fruit, flesh loss and throughput for sweet cherry, sour cherry, plum, apricot, peach, olive and date.

What the calculator computes

An animated cross-section of a pitting machine: the plunger pushes the stone through the hole, and a series of fruits shows how many came out clean, how many stones jammed or split and how many fruits were crushed. Adjust the plunger diameter, the shape and diameter of the hole, ripeness, stone detachability, tilt and speed; the diameters and ripeness can be dragged on the drawing.

Result: peak force, strength limits of the fruit and the stone, loss of flesh and juice, throughput. The calculation is available after sign-in; the model is approximate.
