Calculation example
- Tank shape
- Horizontal cylinder (cistern)
- Inner diameter
- 2 m
- Length
- 3,20 m
- Liquid level from the bottom (optional)
- 1,20 m
- Total volume
- 10 053 l
- Total volume
- 10,053 m³
- Liquid at the given level
- 6 298 l
- Fill
- 62,6 %
Enter diameter, length and liquid level to see the full volume and the litres in the tank at the current level.
Approximate calculation using a simplified model: for designing equipment and process modes, consult a technologist.
Why are level and volume nonlinear in a horizontal tank?
Because the cross section is a circle: near the bottom and top height grows faster than volume, in the middle slower.
The calculations are approximate: they help to assess the process and compare options, but do not replace a process design and trials on a specific raw material. This section is for reference only and contains no commercial offers.
