Wine sulphiting: how much metabisulphite to add

How much potassium metabisulphite to add to the wine to bring free SO₂ to the required level, and how much molecular (active) SO₂ there will be at your pH.

What the calculator computes

Calculates how much potassium metabisulphite to add to the wine to bring free SO₂ to the required level, and what share of the SO₂ is active at your pH.

You can specify the free SO₂ you need, or the desired molecular SO₂ for white, red or sweet wines. The volume of a 10 % solution is also shown. The calculation is indicative: the permitted SO₂ limits depend on the rules and wine type.

The calculations are approximate: they help to assess the process and compare options, but do not replace a process design and trials on a specific raw material. This section is for reference only and contains no commercial offers.
