Yield of dried plums (prunes) from 100 kg

Plums contain about 80 % water and a pit that adds waste. Enter your moisture and waste share — the calculator shows the prune yield from the batch.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the yield depend on the final moisture?
The less water remains in the product, the lower its mass: dry matter does not disappear during drying.

The calculations are approximate: they help to assess the process and compare options, but do not replace a process design and trials on a specific raw material. This section is for reference only and contains no commercial offers.
