Diluting concentrate from 50 to 10 °Bx with water

Enter the concentrate mass, its Brix and the target Brix to see how much water to add and the mass of the resulting blend.

Approximate calculation using a simplified model: for designing equipment and process modes, consult a technologist.

Calculation example

Mass of solution A (being diluted)
500 kg
Brix of solution A
50 °Bx
What we add (component B)
Water (0 °Bx)
Target Brix of the mix
10 °Bx
Component B to add
2 000,00 kg
Mass of the mix
2 500,00 kg
Volume of the mix (approx.)
2 408,6 l

Frequently asked questions

Can a solution be diluted to a Brix higher than the initial one?
No: water only lowers Brix. To raise it, add sugar or blend with a solution of higher Brix.

The calculations are approximate: they help to assess the process and compare options, but do not replace a process design and trials on a specific raw material. This section is for reference only and contains no commercial offers.
